Nine decades of Bentley to compete in a special scratch race

| 9 Jan 2014

Bentleys covering nine decades will take to the track together for a special one-marque race in June.

Staged by the Bentley Drivers Club and marking the 90th anniversary of Bentley's first Le Mans win, the 20-minute scratch race will take place at Donington during the the Aston Martin Owners' Club meeting, replicating the event already held at the BDC's Silverstone meetings.

Everything from vintage 3 Litres to current cars will take to the track, joined by a wealth of specials and aero-engined monsters such as the 24-litre Napier Bentley.

Bentley Drivers Club Competitions Captain Sebastian Welch said: "The BDC is a comparatively small club, and organising a one-marque race at another race meeting is a significant achievement. We are thrilled to be celebrating the 90th anniversary of the first Bentley Le Mans win in this way with an extra race, and would like to thank AMOC Racing for inviting us to stage the race at AMOC Donington. We are sure it will prove hugely enjoyable for competitors and spectators."
