Racecar-Trophy announced for 21st Ennstal-Classic

| 7 Feb 2013

A McLaren M12 is a confirmed entrant for this year’s Racecar-Trophy held from 18-20 July in and around the municipality of Gröbming, Austria.

Billed as a meet for enthusiasts who don’t fancy the gruelling 900km of the main Ennstal-Classic, the trophy is open to pre-’83 single-seaters, prototypes and GTs.

A Porsche Carrera 904GTS, Maserati 4CL Grand Prix, a Lotus Elan racer and a Lancia Stratos HF are already set to attend the event.

Kicking off on Thursday, participants will tackle a warm-up run, before completing two mountain challenges of 8.4km at Stoderzinken, while Friday features a high-speed airfield blast, plus two attempts at the 2km Dachstein road.

The three-day tour will conclude with a 2.4km sprint from Moosheim to Gröbming.
