Tin-top series lets in earlier classics

| 5 Jan 2012

More great classics are set to take to the circuits as a historic touring car race series expands both its eligibility and its programme for 2012.

Although in only its second year, the JD Classics Challenge organised by Motor Racing Legends will push back the date for the earliest touring cars to 1966, meaning classics from a 19-year period can compete.

As a result, organisers expect an influx of hot classic tin-tops from Anglias to Mk1 Escorts.

They have also doubled the number of races on the calendar for 2012 with outings at Donington (5-6 May), Brands Hatch (26-27 May), Oulton Park (25-27 August) and on the Algarve (18-21 October).
