ERA R3A – the first 2-litre ERA – is likely to be the star of an exciting day’s racing when the Vintage Sports-Car Club meets at Mallory Park on 24 June.

Mark Gillies is to drive R3A in the day’s feature race at The Bob Gerard Memorial Trophy Race Meeting.

Other highlights will include Fred Harper’s 1957 Kurtis, Stephen Shoosmith’s Bugatti Type 51, Adam Ealand’s HWM Grand Prix and Paul Jaye’s Alta 2 litre.

Tom Dark’s Bugatti Type 73C will also make an appearance.

Edwardian racers will also feature, with everything from Delages to Mercedes and Vauxhalls hoping to knock Mark Walker’s 1905 Land Speed Record Darracq 200hp off top spot.

Alfa Romeo, HRG, Delahaye, Frazer Nash and Talbot Lago are some of the marques expected to race in a packed grid for Standard and Modified Pre-War Sports Cars as their drivers try to win the Mallory Mug.

Meanwhile, Sam Wilson driving a Cooper T59 will be flying the flag for Formula Junior as he attempts to retain his crown in the John Taylor Memorial Race.

Racing starts at 9am, to find out more visit the VSCC’s website.
