Classic Ferrari dealer Bernard Fosker – 1933-2012

| 23 Jun 2012

One of the UK's best-known classic Ferrari dealers died on 11 June after a five-year battle against cancer.

Bernard Fosker (pictured on right with wife Sally and family friend David Piper) established his eponymous Fosker Ferrari Business in 1969, originally based in his double garage beside his bungalow in Orpington Kent.

The company soon began to expand which necessitated a move to its current location at Brands Hatch Racing circuit.

Although best known for his love of Maranello cars, Fosker was also a keen motorcyclist who began riding a Vincent Black Shadow as a road bike at the age of 18, and then later on a Black Lightning converted for road use.

He never lost his love of motorcycles and recently purchased a Ducati 999R which he rode regularly down to the coast.

His other passion was cycling, and in particular racing bikes from the 1960s. Over the past five years he restored a large selection of vintage Italian racing cycles for sons Jeff and Colin, some of which are displayed at the company  premises.

The Funeral will be held on Friday 6th July, more details and the location will be posted on the Fosker website.
