Bentley's double Flying Scotsman victory

| 13 Jun 2010

Paul Carter and John Bayliss pulled off a repeat win on the second Flying Scotsman rally from 12-14 March. They won convincingly last year, but this time their Derby Bentley special was hard pushed all the way by a Sunbeam and a Talbot, with only 7 secs splitting the top three cars at the end of day one in Grantham.A determined Jayne Wignall kept them honest in her Sunbeam 20hp, and was just 38 secs adrift at the finish. The three-day London to Edinburgh epic is the longest rally for pre-war cars in Britain and drew 50 entries from 12 countries.
