Godfreys repeat victory at Three Castles

| 13 Aug 2010

Mark and Sue Godrey's '51 MG TD emerged victorious again on the eighth Three Castles Welsh Classic Trial from 2-5 June, after three days and almost 500 miles.
Graham Walker and Sean Toohey were only six marks down in their '73 Lotus Elan Sprint. They pipped the Sunbeam Tiger of John Abel and Tony Davies on the last day.
The event drew a remarkable pre-war class of 16, including the ex-'36 French GP Lagonda LG45 of Belgians Macko Laquer and Rob Brouwer, while the Singer family's blown 3 Litre Little Red represented the vintage Bentley contingent.
The Spirit of the Rally award went to Harry Warren, who, after helping others with problems, retired his Porsche 911 and then returned with a spare to assist the course car.
