Wyedean win for Elliott and Price

Nick Elliott and Dave Price took a comfortable victory in the historic element of the Wyedean Stages Rally in the Forest of Dean on 12 February.

Warming up for the British Historic Rally Championship, the Cheltenham duo brought their Escort Mk2 home with more than a minute and a half to spare.

For second, four crews went into the last three stages covered by just 2 secs. Phil Collins and Bryan Thomas managed to push their Opel Ascona ahead of the Escorts of Simon Tysoe/Cliffy Simmons and Warren Philliskirk/Matthew Whattam.

Stuart Clarke and Kevin Haven overcame clutch dramas to beat Guy Woodcock and Hu Kent by 5 secs for Pinto-powered Escort spoils, while Category 2 went to Peter Smith and Russ Langthorne.
