Here we have a very rare, very unique, and very collectable old Ford.
Mk3 Cortinas are few and far betwween nowadays. The desirable 2 door is rare, but to find a genuine Superspeed V6 in concours condition is unheard of....this car is a must for any serious Ford collector..rarer than any other performance Ford ?
This is one of 2 cars that survive today. The other having been customised somewhat, makes this correctly restored car far more desirable in my opinion.

  This was also the only car built by Superspeed that had the very rare "dog leg" five speed ZF gearbox and ZF limted slip diff , which Ford also used in there Rally cars of the day . The cost of these options at the time was significant.
 This car has undergone a painstaking restoration over a ten year period. The quality of workmanship is excellent. It remains on its original bodyshell, although all the wings were replaced with NOS items .
 The car has been finished in its original shade of blue, unique to a Superspeed with painted orange Superspeed detailing. It retains its original registration number.  
  The Engine is a powerful, rebuilt 3.1 V6 , upgraded with a Kent v63 Cam,Big Valve ported heads,steel timing gear,HP oil pump, topped with a Holley carb & inlet . I do also have its original matching numbers engine,which i'm told will need a refresh.
  All other components were either new, or rebuilt, inc. the Gearbox & Diff.
The car comes with a lot of history , and old handbooks and sales brochures
  Needless to say, it looks and drives like a virtually new vehicle.

Superspeed Conversions Ltd was a specialist racing company set up in the late '50s by two brothers, Mike and John Young in the East End of London.
In the late '50s and through the '60s, Ford Motor Company did not have their own Works race team and outsourced this activity to three professional race car preparers. These teams were Alan Mann Racing, Broadspeed and Superspeed.
During the Sixties, Superspeed operated from a garage behind the local Ford dealership at Ilford, East London and specialised in preparing and racing Ford Anglias for race drivers Mike and John Young, as well as Chris Craft and Nick Brittan.
