1965 Jaguar ‘E’ Type Series 1 FHC
When first shown at the Geneva Motor Show in the Spring of 1961, the Jaguar ‘E’ Type caused a sensation.
Offering amazing value priced at £2,097 in Roadster form and £2,196 for the fixed head coupe, this striking new car was capable of 150 mph and could accelerate from 0 - 60 mph in just seven seconds.
The 3.8 litre engine developed 265 bhp and it was the car that everyone wanted. Enzo Ferrari was said to have called the ‘E’ Type ‘The most beautiful car ever built’
During October 1964, the engine size was increased to 4.2 litre, which gave a noticeable increase in torque.
Over 60 years since its debut, the ‘E’ Type is a classic design in the true sense of the term and is highly prized by enthusiasts.
The example we offer here was first registered in Surrey in March 1965. She is a matching numbers, original RHD example. In the present local ownership for the past 14 years, much money has been spent on the car, including an engine rebuild by a well-known specialist around 3000 miles ago. There are two files of documentation supplied, with bills dating back to the mid 1990s. She also has original seats with headrests fitted.
Recently serviced and tuned, this Jaguar is running exceptionally well and is highly enjoyable to drive and comes with a new MOT certificate (no advisories)
