Jaguar XK150 SE DHC RHD 1958 (1959)

This original right-hand drive Jaguar XK150 drophead is a UK SE specification car. It was restored in the 1990's and has since been cared for to the highest standards. It has since been extensively upgraded and used for countless tours and events.
The car was originally manufactured on the 10th of July 1958 and dispatched to Henleys UK. It was finished in British Racing Green with a Tan interior and still retains its original colour scheme along with its original number plate.
In 1982 the car was purchased by Mr Colin Bennett of Essex who set about a full nut and bolt restoration. This restoration was detailed and to a very high standard taking a full 16 years and was only finished in 1998. This restoration is detailed in the history file along with a set of photos showing the quality of the work carried out.
The car was then used sparingly by the owner who commissioned the restoration covering only 4000 miles when it came to Twyford Moors to be sold in 2004. The car has been with one of our customers for the past 17 years and has covered many miles on tours and events with the XK Club. Indeed, this car is very well known in XK circles and has proven itself to be one of the most reliable and competent XKs for international touring out there.
In 2007 the car had a fast road specification engine built by Sigma Engineering. The engine now fitted is a 3.4 liter block, originally supplied to the Ministry of Defense, with a straight port cylinder head and triple carburetors. With this engine fitted this is a very quick car indeed. This engine has covered just over 60,000 miles since this rebuild.
This XK150 has returned to Twyford Moors every year for regular servicing and maintenance since 2004 so we know her very well indeed. The original Moss gearbox with overdrive is in good order providing smooth gear changes and good cruising speeds with the overdrive engaged. The car has been extensively upgraded to make it a comfortable and competent long distance cruiser and a detailed list can be seen below.
Today this XK remains in excellent condition which is a testament to the quality of the restoration and the care it has been given by its owners. The car drives extremely well and would be suited to tours and rallies.
