Range Rover Vogue 3.5 EFI Auto (1988)

This exceptional, low-mileage Range Rover Vogue 3.5 EFI automatic was supplied new by Exeter Garages Ltd (now Matford Land Rover).
Specified in Caspian blue with Silver Grey Velour seats the Range Rover was registered F614 EDV to Invicta owner and classic car enthusiast Mr. Taylor of London on the 1st of August 1988, the first day of ‘E’ registrations. Shortly after delivery, Mr. Taylor had a Harvey-Bailey handling kit installed which included front and rear anti-roll bars which greatly improve the handling of these cars.
By 1990 the car was in the possession of an elderly Gloucestershire-based gentleman who had the car maintained by M.J. Fews of Wotton-under Edge. We believe he placed the car in storage between 2006 and 2013 as he had retired from driving.
In April 2013 the Range Rover was acquired by a local garage owner who, in August the same year, sold it to a Mr. Dewhurst of Devon who carried out some minor recommissioning work after some seven years in storage. Works included a replacement upper tailgate, a repaint of the lower half of the body, the headlining was recovered in correct grey foam-backed brushed nylon and the underbody received a protective wax coating. New shock absorbers were installed along with new axle bump stops and new front and rear brake pads.
In May 2014 the Range Rover was purchased by a Mr. Hill of Tewin, Hertfordshire. Invoices in the history file confirm a new stainless steel exhaust system was fitted in 2017 along with new rubber over-mats, a new gearshift quadrant, and a new brake master cylinder and oil sump pan. A new central locking system was also installed with two new fobs. Finally, a reconditioned radiator and two new gearbox cooler pipes were fitted.
As a testament to the car’s remarkable condition, it was displayed on the Range Rover Register stand at the 2019 NEC Classic Motor Show and was also the subject of a six-page feature in the December 2019 edition of Land Rover Monthly magazine.
The current owner acquired the car in January 2020 and used it sparingly as he is often overseas, the car having driven only 300 hundred miles in the last two and a half years. During his ownership the under-bonnet sound proofing was replaced and when not in use was kept in a professional storage facility. Due to a permanent move abroad, and with only 67,000 miles showing on the odometer this classic Range Rover is now available for sale.
The car retains its original Land Rover documents folder which contains owner’s handbook, Range Rover stereo user guide, UK Land Rover Distributors booklet, Supercover leaflet and most importantly the original stamped service record book.
Classic Range Rovers are very hard to find in such well-preserved condition, especially in original factory specification.
In summary, this is an exceptional, collector-grade example of the classic Range Rover.
