1947 MG TC SPORTS (1947)

A UK supplied example in sound condition, good and useable, but somewhat scruffy in certain ways. The photos are quite flattering. The specification is all correct and the car benefitted from some renovation work a few years ago and more recently from some re-commissioning following a period of storage. Comes with a file of invoices and retains its original registration number, which is always pleasing. A car to use and enjoy, not to be precious about!
Chassis No. TC/3487                Reg No. HTF 264
Snippets – Small but Mighty
Prior to being in private ownership from this little MGTC was by Lancashire Constabulary as a Police Car!  One of the primary uses of these small cars was catching speeding enthusiasts and truck drivers, and a letter from the Chief Superintendent of Kent reminiscing about the TC espouses, “the smallness of the vehicle was appreciated when ‘tailing’ a lorry, as the M.G. was ‘lost’ to the lorry driver’s view”.   If anyone out there has a photo of it during this time we would love to see it.  In the mid 60’s the car was with David Rugg of Great Easton whose business was central to village life as the Rugg’s owned the village shop, Petrol pumps, the bus and a taxi! During the 1970s the MG TC was owned by specialist classic car dealer Roland Duce who in 1974 sold the MG to P. Parker of Ipswich who kept the car for over 40 years!
