1983 Morgan Plus 8 (1983)

1983 Morgan Plus 8 is a sports car built by British car makers Morgan from 1968. Its instant and enduring popularity has been credited with saving the company and keeping the company famous during the 36 years of its manufacture. Among Morgan enthusiasts, it is deeply associated with Peter Morgan, the owner behind its design. The prototype Plus 8 used a Rover V8 engine itself a re-engineered version of the Buick/Oldsmobile 215 motor renamed the 3.5L by Rover. At the end of 1983, the company offered an EFI version using a Bosch L-Jetronic based system. With the added power 204 bhp and low weight, the Plus 8 was, according to the magazine road tests of the day, able to beat a Porsche up to 90 mph.

This 1983 Morgan Plus 8 is a well maintained example featured in stunning factory color Indigo blue with stone leather interior. The adjustable seats expertly renewed to include an embroidered Morgan logo on each headrest about a year ago. This car was first owned by a gentleman in the Manchester, UK. The Plus 8 was legally imported here in 2013, as allowed by the US 25 year exemption from emmission and DOT requirements. The car has the factory 3.5 liter Rover V8 with dual exhausts, and a 5 speed manual transmission. It also has factory installed roll bar, luggage rack, twin fog lamps, badge bar, and Moto Lita wood steering wheel with Morgan horn push. The throaty twin exhaust note is music to the ears for any car enthusiast and the drive is pure British sports car with flat cornering. Mileage stated in kilometers.
