Description

This Porsche 356C is from 1963 and was delivered new in the United States. The car came to Europe in the early 1990s and was also restored here. The full life of the car is known and what is also striking is that the car still has its original engine, so this is a matching numbers copy. The documentation for the car is of course provided by the Porsche Geburtsurkunde, which confirms the aforementioned data.
The Reutter body is in absolute top condition. The fits are correct and equal everywhere and the sheet metal is nice and thin everywhere. The car has been repainted in its original colour “Karminrot”. Also during the painting of the car, great attention was paid to detail and the work was carried out well. The paint obviously has some very light traces of use here and there, but it still looks beautiful and has a fantastic shine. The car stands on standard wheels that are chromed and fitted with the original hubcaps and tires in the correct sizes. The windshield even has a sticker from 1987 that the Texas inspector stuck on it.
The interior was completely reupholstered with half skai and half leather during the restoration. The interior has developed a beautiful patina and is still in very good condition. The chairs are comfortable and the fabric on the seat is also in good condition. The carpets fit nicely throughout and have also developed a light patina that fits perfectly with the rest of the car. The instruments and controls are all completely original and in good condition and function as they should.
The technique was completely overhauled during the restoration and is still in beautiful condition. The engine compartment is beautifully cared for. The engine in this example is a 1.6 litre four-cylinder boxer engine that produces 75 hp and, as indicated earlier, is still the original one. The engine is mated to a four-speed manual transmission that shifts precisely and features acceptable gear ratios that match the engine’s character. Although the power seems modest by today’s standards, a 356 is still a car that feels smooth. The brakes and chassis match the car perfectly and contribute to the enjoyable driving behaviour of this Porsche.
Whether you are looking for a car to drive occasionally in good weather or are looking for a base to drive long-distance rallies, this Porsche 356C Coupé can do it all. From one-day tours to multi-day rallies or even summer vacations. The more you start to drive the 356, you will also notice why the car is still so incredibly popular and has such a huge crowd of enthusiasts. This example is well documented, there are several invoices available, photos from earlier in the life of the car, the Porsche history, valuation reports and e-mails. In short, not only a beautiful matching numbers Porsche 356 to see but also a pleasure to drive with the correct history.
