This is an almost unique Volvo 66 from 1978. The car was bought new by a lady who left the car to her sister after her death. Her sister drove it for a few years but unfortunately also passed away. She left the car to her youngest sister who did not have a driver’s license. The car was therefore suspended for years in a heated garage and was taken out every year for a service. The mileage of this Volvo is therefore only 8,420 kilometers. It will therefore not surprise you that the car is in absolute mint condition.
It is a unique story with a unique car. It will therefore not surprise you that the body of the Volvo looks as if it has just rolled out of the DAF factory. How did that work again. Volvo took over DAF and decided to improve the DAF 66 and sell it as a Volvo. The Volvo 66 therefore has a number of improvements that the DAF 66 did not have. For example, the steering wheel has been improved, the lever now also has a neutral position instead of just forwards or backwards and the bumpers have been strengthened to make the car safer. The Volvo 66 is a rarity these days. Many cars have been killed in the reversing races of Ter Land, Ter zee and in the air and many cars are simply used up. Not this one! What a time capsule. We don’t often see that a car stays in one family for so long, but we see even less often that the papers with the car are as complete as is the case with this copy. All transfers, suspensions and bills have been preserved with the car.
The Volvo is therefore in excellent condition both inside and out. The body is like new as you would expect. Everything shows that the car has never had to sleep outside. The paint has been neatly cared for and still has a very nice shine. The body fits well everywhere and looks great. The interior is completely original and in top condition. Exactly as the mileage suggests. The carpets fit beautifully everywhere and the inside is covered with brown leather. A delicious combination. The dashboard and instruments are all in good condition and function as they should.
The mechanics are simple by modern standards but very functional. The 1.1 engine produces 55 hp and is of course linked to the DAF Variomatic. The technology functions excellently and is still in good condition as you would expect from a car with this low mileage.
The car will be delivered including the aforementioned documentation and the original board folder. In short, a beautiful Volvo 66 from 1978 in excellent condition with a unique story.
