Presented here is an immaculate Jaguar XK120 Alloy OTS finished in its stunning silver paintwork and duo-blue interior leather upholstery. This matching numbers example shows 73,685 miles from new and is more notably one of 58 right hand drive vehicles ever produced. This vehicle presents as one of the most original alloy bodied roadsters around, backed by an incredible history.
A minor restoration of this vehicle commenced in 1981 by T. Healy who rebuilt the brake system and re-upholstered the interior using factory correct materials to the car. The vehicle was then sold to the famous Sydney radio personality John ‘Lawsie’ Laws who retained ownership of the vehicle over the next 24 years. This particular example famously appeared as a cameo on John Laws’ celebrity endorsed advertisements for Valvoline featuring his popular new catch phrase “Valvoline, you know what I mean”.
In May 2004, this Jaguar XK120 underwent a full exterior refinish, bringing the life back into the vehicle and was drove occasionally under the recently acquired ownership. It was 15 years later, that Gavin King of Concours Sportscar Restoration commenced the recommissioning of the Jaguar.
A full mechanical overhaul was carried out with originality in mind. The body was thoroughly inspection for any common wood rot and was reported to require no restoration work on this note.
The motor drives strong, the gearbox is smooth, the brakes are finely tuned, the suspension is firm, leaving the car driving beautifully today.
A rare chance to own one of the most renowned Jaguar XK120’s among its scene, is this beautifully presenting 1950 Jaguar XK120. A wonderful example of what was once the worlds fastest production car, is fit to sit the cornerstone of any classic car collection.
