Classic & Sports Car – Drive It Day 2025: 23 ways to join in

Expect to see lots more classic cars on the roads on 27 April for Drive It Day 2025.

This year, the annual celebration is slightly later than usual, to avoid a clash with Easter weekend.

Drive It Day was created in 2005 by the Federation of British Historic Vehicle Clubs to mark the anniversary of the One Hundred Mile Trial of 23 April 1900, when 65 vehicles drove from London to Edinburgh and back to prove the safety and reliability of cars. Impressively, 35 entrants reached the finish line.

Today, the initiative is used to raise awareness of the classic car movement.
