This car, chassis 9113300157, previewed the 930-generation Porsche 911 turbo, which arrived in production-ready form, 50 years ago at the 1974 Paris Salon.
Based on a 911S chassis and built in Porsche’s design studio, the concept car’s hand-painted ‘turbo’ livery made it a real head-turner.
It was slightly misleading, though, because the turbocharged flat-six engine wasn’t quite ready in time for the German motor show.
