Classic & Sports Car – Jaguar has restarted production of its 3.8 XK engine

It’s been unavailable new for more than half a century, but now Jaguar Classic has announced the reintroduction of its classic 3.8-litre XK engine block.

When new, this six-cylinder unit was installed in the XK150, XK150 S, MkIX, Mk2, MkX, E-type Series 1 and S-type.

At £14,340 each, including VAT but excluding shipping, these XK engine blocks aren’t cheap, but do come with a minimum 12-month Jaguar parts and accessories warranty, plus a certificate of authenticity.

These new units have been built to authentic specifications, and have been tested and approved by Jaguar Classic’s team of engineers.

If proof of ownership is provided, customers can get the serial number from the original engine block stamped on the new casting with an asterisk, indicating that this is a new item.

Otherwise, it is stamped with a new, unique serial number.
