Robert ‘Bob’ Jankel’s homage to the Bugatti Type 41 Royale. At launch, it was the UK’s most expensive car. It had a tubular frame, all-independent suspension, four-wheel discs, and power-assisted rack and pinion steering. Barrel sides, a separate 'luggage trunk', two-tone styling and limited accommodation, all on a vast 142ins wheelbase. Manual or automatic transmission, and up to 135mph.
