Hundreds of Show visitors and social media followers have been voting, and we have a winner from the first day of the People's Concours at The Classic & Sports Car Show in association with Flywheel.
Scooping the title of People's Champion for Day 1 of the Show is Dale Scutter, whose lovely 1960 Hillman Minx Series 3A stole the hearts of enthusiasts among the many competitors dotted around the Club displays and the Pre-’76 Car Park.

One of only 15 examples of the model on the road in UK today, the Minx was purchased by Scutter's father in 1994 and restored by him in fastidious detail – right down to hand-making new panels.

The car's interior is original bar a new set of carpets added by Dale earlier this year.

"The car has been on the road in this condition for 18 years and Dad took it to many local shows before he passed away last year," said Dale. "It was his pride and joy.

"My dad has also restored a 1952 Hillman Minx MkV, one of only two on the road in the UK today. In his last years I used to take the Series 3A to shows and he would take the MkV.

"I have become the custodian of my dad's work and I'm very proud to be bringing it out for everyone to see and admire a make of car that is a very rare and understated classic of British engineering."
