Can someone tell me, in layman's terms, how to post pictures of my Triumphs from Flicker? I have no understanding of computers and URL means absolutely nothing to me. I have Windows Vista.

Hope someone can oblige...

Many thanks, pp

I do not know exactly how Flickr works, but each photo you post on there should have it's own URL. This is the code to locate that photo and there should be a tag attached to the photo which says 'URL' or 'Direct Link'. If you click on that it may automatically copy, or if not, you need to copy the link, same as any other cut and paste operation.

Then at the top of this box I am typing the reply in, there is an icon like a little tree, to the right of the one that looks like an anchor, and if you hold the cursor over it it says insert/edit image. Ok, click on that and a new box opens, and you paste the URL of the required photo in the required field where it says image URL. It offers you the option of writing a caption if you want but that is not compulsory. Ignore the other fields and click INSERT. Once you have done that the photo should show, but unless you are trying to do something clever with it, make sure you have the cursor at the bottom of your text, so the photo shows below the message. If the cursor is in the middle of the text when you click insert, that is where the photo will appear.

Hope that all makes sense, give it a go, and good luck, it should end up like this;

Yes all present and correct, Flickr is somewhat different from say Photobucket or box, in that you have to set a size. If you take it from photostream, or the album layout click on the image, it will then ask you which size, thumbnails, squareMedium 500,640, albeit the resolution gets blurred as the pixels are stretched,,and so on,double click on image to find settings which appear to the right of the picture,(http://farm6.static.flickr.com/5257/5507662865_2ac1416ac1_s.jpg)ie copy url

the surfer one was enlarged to medium 500, anything more than 500 as I have done to show how they apear on FlickR is set at medium 640, the last surfer (and the Lancia Delta a cousin in Luxembourg owns was from his photostream, when he joined in return to some pics sent them, and was copied in medium 640, which is automatically resized on here)so unless you actually manually change the size they come up in a cloned size, sorry wont explain how to change them manually as its not a layman friendly process.

So on Flickr, left click onto image, then when the image appears enlarged, click on the size, I think 500 is good,and where it says copy image url,run your mouse over it, with the left hand button down-copy the blue highlighted text, url<table, by clicking with your right hand mouse button, and then it will give you the choice copy url-simples, if your a meercat.com, for example,

> and then repaste it on here,via the green tree as already stated above.

http://farm6.static.flickr.com/5097/5508261400_949f67786f.jpg , below, I have deliberately changed to show what happens if it has any mistake[/url]so if you put in the wrong source code, or attempt to copy a photo without permission, this is what happens

If you get stuck with anything like this or other stuff, UKTech'ie site is a good bet and voluntarily run for advices by enthusiasts.and maybe see you over yonder,sometime on UKtechie, whichever doppleganger pseudonim is in operation there/from hereby,  In hospital again Friday, speak again thereafter.GAv
