What's happening to the digital version

Can anyone give an update of when the digital version of the February issue is going to be available?

I stopped reading C&S when other car magazines went digital but then came back again when C&S became available through Zinio.

C&S really is the best classic car mag, so well written and skilfully edited with an interesting spectrum of subject matter.

It's justt a pity it takes such a long time to come trhough Zinio.

Thanks for alerting us to this. As far as we were concerned, it should have gone live at the same time as the issue was published, but for some reason it didn't. We are now working to rectify that ASAP and will keep you updated.

In the meantime apologies and thanks for your patience.

Many thanks. I keep checking daily.

I think digital magazines are still in their early days and I'm keen to carry on supporting them.

I'm experiencing the same kind of "trouble", contacted the people at Zinio, replied that they aren't directly responsible for this delay...just don't understand the reason why digital issue is so  late, in theory it'd even be available before the first print copy is out :) can wait, though :))) thank you!

Dear all,

We received a version for approval from Zinio yesterday and have asked for some changes to be made before it goes live. Once we get the revised one (and it is Ok) it should go live straight away.

I should add that after looking into this yesterday, it transpired that the original delay was not Zinio's fault at all but someone deep in a dungeon in Haymarket Towers who put the wrong date on an order form or something (despite us doing everything else right).

So, we apologise for that and take full responsibility.

As soon as it is signed off I will let you know.

Thanks for the update. I'm convinced digital newsprint is the future.

I was reading an article just the other day about how ereaders have brought an increase in book sales. I also read about how many newspaper sales are plummeting. I'm convinced because so many are reading the free sites, the likes of The Mail and The Guardian. I work in a normal British office where just a few years ago, the newspapers came out at lunchtime. Now it's the iPads, Kindles and netbooks.

Zinio is a start but I'd like to see magazine content to take advantage of the digital media with more content to download and formats never available in printed media such as video content. A quality magazine like C&S could charge a premium.

The live weblinks C&S has are a nice touch already.

For now, just publishing on time is enough :)

Zinio contacted us yesterday to say that there have been some rendering issues that are preventing them from presenting the mag to a standard that we would accept, but that they would be resolved imminently.

Again, we can only apologise and promise (hope) that this is a one-off foul-up.

Sorry.
