Frank Costin gambled that enthusiasts would want aerodynamic efficiency before low cost, but lost. Marcos-type monocoque wooden chassis (already dropped by Marcos!), Vauxhall VX4/90 mechanicals, and glass-fibre shell (including rear 'sail' panels predating XJ-S!), added up to 137mph with just 96bhp. Amazing, but the £3000 price tag killed it.
