First De Tomaso to be made in commercial quantities; unlike Mangusta, has integral construction - no backbone chassis. Up to 350bhp with hotter versions of Ford's mid-mounted 351 engine, a five-speed transaxle, 11in ventilated disc brakes and 175mph advertised for the GTS version (from early 1973). Early ones overheated, rusted, fell to bits. Good secondhanders sell handsomely in the US.
