Belated and only partially successful attempt to resurrect the 'image' of the MkII 1600E, replacing GXL in MkIII line-up. Best-furnished MkIII of all, with 98bhp and 105mph top speed. Wood facia, plush interior and good handling compared with early MkIIIs. Rectangular headlamps and sports-style wheels completed an attractive package.
