Yet more product-planning by Honda, Prelude being new body shell and greenhouse on basic accord floorpan and front-drive installation. Pleasing, but slightly more obviously Oriental than Accord hatchback, offering up to 100mph but less passenger space, all at a higher cost. Only a partial success, replaced for '82 by startlingly attractive second generation 1.8litre model.
