Replacement for the good old 180 saloon, with the latest angular styling, tail fins, a wider track, and more room inside. 190D has 55bhp diesel engine. Automatic available for '63. Front disc brakes for '64, when power steering becomes standard. This series of Mercedes is known generically as 'Fintails'.
