MINI CLUBMAN (1978-80)

2-door 4-seater saloon/3-door 4-seater estate.

Long nose derivative of Mini - no-one ever explained reason for this - with less pleasing looks and aerodynamics. Still same Mini cabin and wheelbase/floorpan/suspension, but longer for estate version. At first 'dry' suspension on estate, 'wet' on saloons, but all 'wet' from mid-1971. Enlarged engine, with manual transmission only, from late '75. No increase on Mini performance, but interior trim different (better?) at least. Displaced by new Metro for 1981.
