With that 3½-litre engine in 24cwt of car, there was performance aplenty - a 104mph top speed was quite sensational for an unblown sports car of that era. Gorgeous looking, it had a suprb gearbox, fine steering, brakes and handling, as long as you treated it with respect. A 0-60mph time of under 11secs startled the car buying public, especially as it cost only £445.
