TRIUMPH GT6 Mk2
2-door 2-seater fastback coupé.
GT6 was to Spitfire as Vitesse was to Herald, using the same chassis, but with smooth 104bhp version of six-cylinder engine. Optional overdrive as on Mk1 GT6, but fitted with effective lower-wishbone independent rear suspension. This was hard, but it worked and produced proper handling at last. MK2 also had matt-wood for the facia, Rostyle wheels (wires were still optional) and better ventilation for engine bay and cockpit. 110mph top speed and 25mpg were normal - so the GT6 was more efficient, though smaller, than the MGB GT.
