VAUXHALL VICTOR FD 1600/SUPER

The Victor comes into line stylistically with the latest Viva, but more important is the new hemi-head belt-driven ohc engine; in 1600 form 83bhp spells 90mph. Steering is now by rack-and-pinion, front discs are optional on '1600', live rear axle is coil-sprung, and although three-speed column change is standard, four-on-the-floor is optional, with or without overdrive. Estates from May '68; GM 'Strasbourg' auto 'box available for '70, when car renamed Victor Super. Optional on these more basically trimmed variants is the 2000cc engine, complete with standard servo'd front discs.
