Progressively modified and improved Beetles, with wrap-around windscreen, more prominent nose, MacPherson strut front suspension and slightly more pleasant interiors. As with other larger-engined Beetles, some had semi-automatic transmission, and all had front discs to keep the performance in check. Collectors' cars? Not really - there are far too many around for that, and they don't rust away!
