VOLKSWAGEN KARMANN-GHIA 1500/1600 (1966-74)

2-door 4-seater coupé/convertible.

1500 still on sale in the UK in 1970, though officially discontinued already. The coupé had Ghia-styled, Karmann-built superstructure on Beetle/1500 mechanicals. Interesting if not universally liked styling and marginally better performance than work-a-day Beetle, but - frankly - not many people cared, as the limited sales figures prove. A woman's car, somehow - and that's certainly not meant to be sexist.
