An engine transplant job for the 18/85S, using the new overhead-cam six (E6) developed from the Austin Maxi unit. Just enough space under the wide bonnet, and 110bhp with twin SU carbs helped produce more performance than before. Looks, general equipment, ponderous handling and extremely spacious cabin all exactly the same - but this time tests showed 104mph top speed and 23mpg economy. Mechanically, this car was identical with the Austin and Morris 2200s.
