Classic & Sports Car – 10 Chevrolet Corvettes to star at London Concours

A line-up of 10 Chevrolet Corvettes will be at this year’s London Concours, which returns to the Honourable Artillery Company in central London from 4-6 June.

The classic American sports car celebrated its 70th anniversary in 2023, and the display will cover the model’s history, from the first-generation C1 to the latest, mid-engined C8.

This set is presented in partnership with Classic & Sports Car and the Classic Corvette Club UK.

And if you fancy seeing it for yourself, you can go to London Concours for less with our exclusive 2-for-1 ticket offer – enter the code 24CLASSIC to get the discount when you buy your tickets here.

The oldest vehicle in the display will be a Chevrolet Corvette C1.

The glassfibre-bodied two-seater entered production in 1953, marking the beginning of the sports car’s lineage.

At launch, the only engine available was a 150bhp straight-six, but the model found its feet a few years into its nine-year production run when a three-speed manual gearbox and the 195bhp small-block V8 became available.

Clockwise from top: the Chevrolet Corvette C3 took over from the C2 in 1967; the C4 Corvette went after European supercars; the fifth- and sixth-generation ’Vettes

It’ll be joined by a Chevrolet Corvette C2, which celebrated its 60th anniversary in 2023.

Perhaps the most coveted classic car in this line-up, the second-generation Corvette, also known as the Sting Ray, was on sale for just five years, from 1963 to ’67.

Its thumping V8 and stylish coachwork will surely make it a favourite at the 2024 London Concours.

Next to these early Corvettes, the C3 and C4 models heading to the British capital will represent the classic sports car’s third and fourth generations.

The Chevrolet Corvette C3, largely a development of its predecessor, was on sale for 15 years before the heavily re-engineered C4 took over in 1984.

Chevrolet continued to target European sports cars into the new millennium with the supercar-baiting C5 and C6, which will also be part of this set at the Honourable Artillery Company in June.

London Concours returns to the Honourable Artillery Company in central London from 4-6 June 2024

The striking C7-generation Chevrolet Corvette is sure to grab plenty of attention at London Concours, too.

The bodywork is markedly different from previous generations, but there’s a familiar front-engine, rear-drive layout underneath.

The latest Chevrolet Corvette treads a different path, however, and visitors to this summer’s event will be able to compare this mid-engined supercar with its predecessors.

See this 10-car Chevrolet Corvette celebration and much more at London Concours, at the Honourable Artillery Company in London from 4-6 June 2024.
