After 114 bids, Winston Churchill’s eBay-auctioned Daimler DB18 Drophead Coupé sold on Monday for a remarkable £397,000 – 16 times the cost of any other DB18.
The car, which we featured last week, had just been treated to a £170k restoration and features coachwork by the Carlton Carriage Co, rather than the more common Tickford or Barker versions.
The Daimler sports a fluid flywheel mated to a four-speed preselector gearbox.
