An iconic 1962 Leyland Routemaster is expected to make £20-28,000 when it goes under the hammer at Silverstone Auctions’ Stoneleigh sale on 23 February.
On delivery it came suitably equipped for life in the city with power steering and an automatic gearbox. The commuter carrier also featured the famous ‘hop on/off’ rear platform, which will be called back into service on the new Routemaster.
The bus joins a lot list that includes numerous historic race cars.
