Connaught Grand Prix car to be auctioned

A Connaught AL10 raced by the late Roy Salvadori is coming up for sale.

The recently restored 1953 Grand Prix was also driven in period by John Coombs, Kenneth McAlpine, Ron Flockhart and Bill Whitehouse.

It comes complete with FIA papers and VSCC passport and has been raced throughout Europe including the European Historic Grand Prix at Luxembourg, Monza, Spa, Nurburgring, and Paul Ricard among others. It has also made regular appearances in the support race at the British Grand Prix, and at Goodwood.

The 1960cc four-pot Connaught comes with a spare engine, 'box and wheels, among other goodies, and will go under the hammer at Silverstone Auctions on 21 July.
