Led Zeppelin manager’s car to sell at Brooklands

A 1929 Pierce-Arrow Model B Doctor’s Coupe that was owned by Led Zeppelin manager Peter Grant for 25 years is to cross the block at Historics’24 November sale with an estimate of £68-78,000.

Grant discovered the car while touring the USA with the band from 1968-’69 and bought it with the proceeds of a recently signed deal with Atlantic Records. When the 34-show tour finished he had the car shipped to the UK sharing a container with the band’s equipment.

The current owner cared for the car on behalf of the music boss, taking ownership when Grant died in ’95.

The luxury machine comes with an extensive history – which includes an appearance in the soon-to-be-released book Rockstars and their Cars – and has been subject to light restoration includeding replacing the radiator, cooling fan and brakes.
