West End exhibition for Klaus Wagger

| 1 May 2013

The work of Austrian automotive artist Klaus Wagger will be on show at London’s La Galleria Pall Mall from 7-14 May.

The free exhibition will include 30 of his spectacular paintings with subjects ranging from the Mercedes–Benz SSK to the Porsche 917.

Wagger’s award-winning work has featured on race posters for the Mille Miglia, Daytona 24 Hours and this year’s Silverstone Classic. His compositions were also featured in C&SC's Motoring art section (see May 2013).

His latest handiwork includes a spectacular celebration of Jim Clark with his Lotus 25 in a classic drift while dicing with arch-rival Graham Hill’s BRM P61 (the main image above).

The British Racing Green theme continues with paintings of an Aston Martin DBR1 and a DB4GT racing into the evening sun at Le Mans.

Despite his bold style and vibrant colours, Wagger originally studied industrial design before beginning a career as a technical illustrator.

The new show is at La Galleria Pall Mall, 30, Royal Opera Arcade, London SW1Y 4UY. See www.lagalleria.org.

The exhibition is open weekdays from 10:30am-8pm, and from 12-4pm at weekends.
