E-type Club rallies owners for charity drive

| 22 Apr 2016

The Jaguar E-type Club is calling on owners to join its charity tour of Britain’s coastal roads in September. Organised to raise money for Prostate Cancer UK, the event will see E-types from all across the country tackle 18 one-day stages with an average daily mileage of 180 miles. The cars will set off from Goodwood the day after the Revival (12-29 September).

Founder of the Jaguar E-type Club and author of more than 30 motoring books Philip Porter has just recovered from the disease: “I was lucky. I had the tests, caught it early, had the operation and recently received the all-clear,” he said. “Our aim with this event is to not only raise funds, working with Prostate Cancer UK, but also awareness. With the support of E-type owners, this national event can do just that.”

All E-types are welcome, with owners encouraged to take part in as many stages as possible. Philip Porter will be leading the charge in his E-type roadster – one of the stars of The Italian Job

“Our E-types can play a major role in the important fight against this indiscriminate killer cancer. We can also have a lot of fun and enjoy an amazing drive through many of the most stunning parts of Great Britain while helping a very good cause,” he concluded.
