Tornados blow in for successful Southampton meet

| 22 Sep 2012

The Tornado Register & Fairthorpe Sports Car Club held a Tornado Talisman Drop-in Day on 13 September.

The meeting took place at the appropriately named Talisman Public House in Park Gate Southampton, which even has a bar dedicated to the rare four-seat coupé.

The idea of holding a full drop-in day was a considerable success with enthusiasts of all types of cars invited to come along.

Tornado Cars founder Bill Woodhouse was in attendance to see a selection of his creations covering Talisman and Tempest models, plus some cars that were his company's rivals in the specialist car sector in the 1960s such as Rochdale and Fairthorpe.

The pub's car park buzzed with interesting vehicles from as far afield as North Wales, and enthusiasts who have made their way from Liverpool and even the British Virgin Islands.
