Aston Martin centenary to be celebrated at the Silverstone Classic

| 20 Mar 2013

A raft of special features is being planned at the Silverstone Classic to honour the 100th anniversary of Aston Martin from 26-28 July.

With factory backing, the brand will be the event’s official Featured Celebration Marque for 2013 and will put on a 100-car parade at lunchtime on the Saturday.

Astons will also feature prominently on the track, not least the Royal Automobile Club Historic Tourist Trophy for pre-1963 GT cars (above), which has been won by DB4s for the past two years.

A massive turnout of the cars is also expected in the event's club displays.

Aston Martin CEO Dr Ulrich Bez said: "For us, not only the cars are important but also the people who engineer, build, drive, race and own them, and to celebrate together at Silverstone is the best and most befitting way to do this."

Event director Nick Wigley added: "We are working closely with Aston Martin, the Aston Martin Heritage Trust and the Aston Martin Owners’ Club to ensure this magnificent centenary is marked in fine style."

If you want to go to the event you have just over a week left to take advantage of its discounted 'early bird' tickets saving you more than 15% on weekend passes.
