Campbell's record-breaking Bluebird to star at Beaulieu

| 11 Mar 2013

Classic cars will take a back seat at Beaulieu when Sir Malcolm Campbell’s famous world water speed record breaker the K3 Bluebird stars at the venue’s Boatjumble on 28 April.

The hydroplane set a string of world water speed records beginning with a 126.33mph run on the waters of Lake Maggiore, Italy, in 1937 and topping out on Switzerland’s Lake Hallwill at 130.93mph in 1938.

The boat, which has been completely restored, will also be started on the day.
