Classics flock to Suffolk

| 15 Jun 2012

More than 50 classics from the Fressingfield Oily Rag Club descended on Whittingham Hall for the fifth running of The Legion Rally held last month.

The event joined forces with the British Legion’s annual garden party and has swelled in size from only six cars back in 2007.
Cars on show and competing for trophies spanned more than 80 years of motoring.

Outright winners were John and Jean Kinley who took their 1935 Riley Lynx Sprite with a 1948 Vincent HRD prototype motorcycle in tow, and Graham Turner’s replica Gulf Porsche 917, as raced at Snetterton. Both took the ‘Lady of the House’ trophies.

The day raised more than £3100 in less than three hours for the Royal British Legion Poppy Appeal.
