Drive It Day: what did you do?

1

Sunday’s Drive It Day offered an excellent opportunity for enthusiasts to get out and about in their classics.

Classic car fan Tony Bunting did just that when he and fellow “P6ers” from The Case Is Altered club amassed at the RAF Museum in Hendon.

More than 50 people attended the event despite mechanical misdemeanors. Two P6 owners even made it without their classics, travelling instead by British Rail and the London Underground.

We would love to hear more of your Drive It Day stories so please email them to me at russell.campbell@haymarket.com.

What a brilliant turnout! They remind me of occasional lifts to school with a Scouser neighbour who loved his Rovers. He had several P6s, including a lovely 3500, then an early SD1 that he wasn't so keen on. Is there a shot of the estate on SD1 alloys?
The weather was a bit grim in south Cheshire on Drive It Day, but I did see a couple of other classics while I was out in the BeeEm: a nice Jeans Beetle and what could have been a Vincent Hurricane in the distance – or maybe it was a Sylva...
