Haynes hosts hot cats

The annual summer exhibition at the Haynes International Motor Museum in Sparkford, Somerset focuses on, go on take a wild guess, yup the Jaguar E-type.

Running from 22 July to 11 September, it does at least promise to put this year's most overexposed car into context, by tracing the development of the Jaguar "sports Car" through history from SS10 to XJ-S.

This also allowed Haynes to issue a press release with the fact-twisting headline: "Hawthorn's Le Mans D-type heads Haynes' E-type exhibition." There will also be the ex-Duncan Hamilton C-type, while stars of the E-type will be the freshly restored Lofty England car and the example commonly referred to as "Chassis number 1".

Because some of the cars will have historic motor sports commitments over the summer, visitors are advised that if they have a specific car they wish to see, to check the museums website to ensure their favourite is on display before turning up.
