Million Pound Aston to star at Supercar Sunday

| 14 Jun 2011

A million Pound Aston Martin will head up this year’s Supercar Sunday on 26 June.

The 750bhp Aston Martin One-77 will feature alongside a spectacular display of current and past supercar icons at the annual Heritage Motor Centre event in Gaydon.

The 220mph coupe, which is one of just 77 that Aston Martin plans to produce, will also inspire a ‘live’ artist’s rendition on the day.

Well-known automotive artist Ian Cook (above) – famous for using a radio-controlled car to move his brushes around a canvas – will paint the carbon fibre supercar on the day in his dynamic medium.

The event, a mainstay of the Heritage Motor Centre’s calendar for the last 10 years, is expected to attract everything from a 4.5-litre supercharged ‘vintage’ Bentley and Ford GT40 to a McLaren F1 and Porsche GT1, along with dozens of examples of other iconic supercars.

Tickets are £11 for adults, £5 for children (5 – 16 years) and £30 for a family (2 adults & 3 children). See www.supercarsunday.co.uk or call 01926 645 029 for more. Entry is free (car and driver) for owners bringing a supercar.
